Barbara Ann Corcoran

 Barbara Ann Corcoran is an American businesswoman. The Corcoran Group, an NYC real estate brokerage was established by Corcoran. NRT bought it in 2001 for $66 million. Corcoran later left the business. One of the original "Shark" investors, Corcoran has appeared in every season of ABC's Shark Tank to date. By February 2020, she had completed 53 deals. The most significant of these was a purchase of $350,000 to Coverplay at 40 percent. Corcoran, who was the second child of 10 from a Catholic family with a low-income, was born in Edgewater in New Jersey.  Her mother, Florence, was a homemaker. Edwin W. Corcoran Jr. was her father. He was constantly moving between jobs and the next during Corcoran’s childhood. The family relied sometimes on free food delivery from a friendly local supermarket. Corcoran still remembers her father as someone who would drink sometimes and did not treat her mother with respect. Corcoran struggled at school and was later told that she was dyslexic. Corcoran attended an Catholic elementary school, and later began high school in Englewood at St. Cecilia High School. Corcoran who was in the process of failing numerous classes in her freshman year, transferred to Leonia High School. There, she received a D.
